Boot issue? Power Supply? Mobo?

I have a frustrating problem. I have a Asus P5E3 Deluxe Mobo with a Q6600. I recently hooked it all up and got it running just fine with Win7 64. I then tidyed up the wires, added a 2nd DVD BluRay drive, and was ready to button it up but when i went to start it again, it wouldn't start. The fans would come on briefly, then pause, fans, pause, etc. I had been using a 4 pin to 8 pin PSU mobo adapter which worked fine. When I removed that 4 (8) pin supply, the fans will start but the computer won't boot (obviously). I tried a new power supply... same issue. Is the Mobo shot? What could have happened? Everything was fine until I added that optical drive and tydied up the wires?
Someone please help...

Simply reset Bios. All is back to normal. Very annoying and frustrating day. But I guess this is why I love to build and troubleshoot systems!
