Pentium Dual Core E21420 vs pentium d 950 v athlon 5000 x2

i have just bought a machine with pentium dual core e21420 1.6ghz 2gb ram 320gb hard drive for 35quid .... i recently sold a system with pentium d 950 .3.4ghz and before that amd athlon athlon 5000+ 2.6ghz system


my question is how good is the the e21420 compared to the higher clocked pentium d 950 and athlon 5000x2 2.6ghz .... the pent d and athlon x2 where at stock clocks and so is the pentium dual core e21420 ......... ...

Both the Athlon 64 X2 5000+ and the Pentium D 950 would spank that CPU.

the pentium dual core feels just as fast even tho its only 1.6ghz . . . The pc is only being used to stream tv and watch movies while hooked up to my 32inch tv . . Does a good job . . Getting another tower tmaz . .hope its better . . Dnt no spek yet

In general use for the most part it's going to feel as fast however, when you start dumping some heavy load on it you'll notice.

But for what it's used for it's perfect.

the tower im getting tomaz i think is core2quad.... im not 100percent .... but if it is a core2quad .... q6600 for example ... would it play games newer games if used with a decent video card as if it is gonna be good for games i will invest in a video card and experminent in pc games

If you overclock it you would be able to play the majority of games out there without much of a problem especially if you pair it with a decent card.
