Woohoo! I'm done with my wish list! (almost)

So this is going to be my first build. I'm pretty proud of myself for doing this, since I didn't know more about the innards of a computer other than the power switch.

The last part of my build I need is a case. I'll be looking for a case around 110$ and 70$, and I'll pick the one I feel has the greatest bang for buck factor. It will be a mid tower atx case.

Well, here's my wish list.

https://secure.newegg.com/WishList/MySavedWishDetail.as...

If there's any recommendations or comments I have on my build, please do say. I've been second guessing myself quite a bit over the last few weeks, and I won't stop now.

Also, could you guys rate my build? It will probably end up around 890-900$. Also consider its my first build :3

Your link doesn't work. You'll need to use either PC Part Picker or list the items individually.

Oh g-unit mate. All it takes is a bit of improvisation to make the link visible to you.

TADA! :)

OP: Spend $100 more on a Radeon 7850. Pairing such a powerful CPU with a weak GPU is going to have low fps in games.

I second the 7850, pump it to a 7950 if you can push the budget. Note the GTX 660 is supposed to be coming this month and prices will fall yet again.

I'd definitely go with the 7850. I also didn't see a case listed - I'm taking it that's not needed?

No I still need a case. I was wondering if I could get some suggesions? Also, how weak is the 6850? It seemed like a good price/power item. Besides, my max buget is around 950 :/

Anywho, I plan on crossfiring it near black friday.

the 6850 is not a good deal. the 6870 is like 10-20 bucks more at newegg.

a nice cheap case would be the antec one or the antec 302. about the same

Get a cheaper PSU. A good 600W is $50-$60. Spend the money towards a 7850.

On a $950 budget I'd suggest something like this:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU: Intel Core i5-3450 3.1GHz Quad-Core Processor ($199.99 @ Newegg)
Motherboard: ASRock Z77 Pro4 ATX LGA1155 Motherboard ($117.86 @ Newegg)
Memory: Crucial Ballistix sport 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($43.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($74.99 @ Newegg)
Video Card: Sapphire Radeon HD 7870 2GB Video Card ($284.99 @ Newegg)
Case: Corsair 300R ATX Mid Tower Case ($59.99 @ Newegg)
Power Supply: Corsair 650W ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply ($79.99 @ Newegg)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (64-bit) ($99.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $961.79
(Prices include shipping and discounts when available.)

Change the above PSU to an Antec EA550W.

I don't think I'll change my gpu. Like I said, I'm going to cf it when cyber Monday comes around. The tomshardware best gpu for the money ranks the 6850 as equal to a 7870. Not bad, considering it will be 100$ less.

what the heck?????

a 7870 is comparable to a gtx580

a 6850 is comparable to a 560SE or a 7770

im pretty sure you mean crossfire

Actually, the 7850 at STOCK is comparable to the 560ti 448 core. When OCed, it is ALMOST equal to a GTX 580. The 7870 is equal to a GTX 570, and when OCed, it is equal to a GTX 580, if not a bit better.

the 7870 is a tad better than the 580 if you oc. otherwise it would be a bit faster than the 570

So everything will work together right?

And do you guys have any case suggestions? I don't like most tbh :/  I'm looking for a mid tower.

Check out the Corsair 300R that I linked to - it's one of the best cases in its' price range.

Isn't there like a test that works the hard drive really hard? A read write test to eliminate any early errors?
