Hey guys,

I have a weird problem and I've been scouring the internet but can't find anything on it: when I start up my PC and switch on the connected TV it reads No Signal, but after restarting the comp a few times with the case button it eventually works. It also connects if I manage to switch on the TV at a certain point after switching on the PC, usually while the PC shows the loading windows animation. It's a very strange/inconsistent problem but Its seriously annoying.

A few months back I installed a new graphics card but I'd done that kind of thing before, and I'm confident its been fitted properly etc. I also followed a guide for installing the new drivers and used driver sweeper etc. I had also installed a new Corsair PSU to acomodate the cards extra demands.

Specs:

Amd Phenom X2 @3.4ghz
GTX 560ti 448
4GB Ram
Corsair 650v2
Windows 7 64-bit

Thanks!

Mike

(If anyone can suggest a better category for this issue I'll happily change it!)

Hey Mike,

I use a tv as my display as well, and it does a similar thing. When I turn my PC on, it'll read "no signal" until my computer hits the windows screen or so unless I turn my tv on beforehand. For some reason, it takes my television a minute to recognize the signal coming from the computer. Yours may do the same.

Ah glad to hear I'm not alone then! The thing is, if I leave my PC, say 5 minutes, and then turn my TV on, it still doesn't detect it. It's like I have a small window in which to switch on the TV, any sooner or later and it won't pick up at all. Any suggestions?

Cheers mate.

Just a stab in the dark but have you tried different outputs/cables?

And are you using the TV as a secondary monitor?

Well I'm using a mini hdmi (since that's the only option on my particular graphics card) and I don't have any spares and the TV is the only screen I have for the display.
