So, I have the following parts and am looking to order memory. I've heard the space is pretty cramped if going with an after market cooler on this board, and the Ripjaws might not fit. Anyone have a similar setup or some insight can tell me if it does or not? Maybe I should just go with Corsair Vengence Low Profile? Please let me know...

I Have:

ASRock Z77 Extreme4 LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

On the way:

COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 Plus RR-B10-212P-G1 "Heatpipe Direct Contact" Long Life Sleeve 120mm CPU Cooler Compatible Intel Core i5 & Intel Core i7

Want to buy: (ShellShocker Deal: I have until 1 pm eastern time.)

G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL8D-8GBXM

Suggestions? Thanks!

It will fit if you use the 2nd and 4th from the left slots (which is still a dual channel config).

I have that board and heatsink with similar RAM. You will have trouble fitting a stick into the far left slot, so low profile RAM may be needed if going to 16GB is a possibility.

Also, get the 212 EVO, not the 212+. The EVO has smoother/flatter baseplate which helps in primarily in cooler idle temps, but can be seen under load as well.

Review compares to the 212+

I'd have trouble fitting a stick in far left slot. Is that with the cooler pushing air up or out the back? 'Cause I've seen a lot of posts about it fitting with the cooler blowing towards the back, but I'm just not sure.

Stock setup is this, fan is on the right side (toward the RAM) pushing air through the heatsink and out the back of the case. That's the way I'v got mine configured.
The fan can be moved to the other side of the unit so that it pulls air through the heatsink, instead of pushing (you will have to flip the fan in its mounting bracket, its pretty simple to do). That should free up the far left RAM slot.

If you mounted it so it was blowing up, I suspect it would block the far left slot anyway, it is quite wide.

Yeah for sure it is slimmer pushing back than pushing up. Just wanted to know how yours was setup so it impeded on the first slot.

Thanks alot!
