Clean install of 4770 on ASUS p8z68-v LE

Having difficulty installing two radeon hd 4770s in my new build. I plan on running them in crossfire but I can't seem to install even one successfully. Whenever I try to boot with one installed i just get a black screen. Tapping/holding F5/F8/F11 have not worked to boot in safe mode. I disabled the Intel(R) HD Graphics Family and the display driver currently running is "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter." I've tried this with both of my 4770s, so I don't think this is a hardware issue.

Clean your system with CCleaner:

Then uninstall the driver you have and run Driver Sweeper from Safe Mode (F8). Have it find and remove any AMD/ATI/Nvidia graphics driver remnants it finds.

Reboot and install the latest driver for your card and O/S.
