hi! i am new to this forum and a noob in computing. I was just wondering whether there was a way to make the onboard intel hd 3000 work with the dedicated nvidia gpu just like "crossfire" works for amd gpu's.

Solution
I did not misunderstand, the answer is flat out, you can't. Even if you could, a dedicated GPU would be bogged down with the HD3000 since it would have to sit idle for a lot of the time and wait for the HD3000 to finish its frame.

If its a laptop, then you can have switchable graphics, but not on desktop (unless you find some program that hacks the drivers). Why would you want to anyways, other than Quick Sync? A modern, even low-end dedicated GPU will vastly outperform HD3000.
