Hi guys.. I'm new here And i'm kinda confused ...
I'm planning on building a PC...

My choices are..

i5 3470k (worth 8,100Php) ... 3.20Ghz
Amd a8 3870k (worth 2,xxx) ... 3.00Ghz

I Want to play games like BF3, Crysis, etc... Mostly 2012 games.. @1280x1024 @high details :D And please tell me the why is it the better choice.

Motherboard...

Gigabyte A55M-DS2
Asrock H61M vs2 r2.0
N68 VS3 UCC (forgot the manufacturer name)
Asus M4N68T-M LE V2

Which is best for the processor and the graphics card? and most durable.

And the graphics card I'm looking at is POWERCOLOR HD 6670 1Gb ddr5 (worth 4,000Php)
It's the only graphics card in the town which is ddr5

And my PSU is powerlogic atx 500W is that ok? Is it a reliable brand? It's the old stock I got from my PC when it broke :(

My RAM.. I'm planning to get the so called 1866Mhz.. 2gb is enough for me. If it is low in price :D

1$ = 41Php.

i5 3570k is better, but at those prices?? However, if I was making a budget build I would definitely buy the A8. In the US, it is half the price of the 3570k. My vote is the A8, especially cuz of the prices you listed in the Philippines.

The Gigabyte A55M-DS2 looks decent. No major problems. Can that board overclock? I know for Intel CPUs, if you want to overclock you MUST buy a Z77 cuz the H77 CAN'T overclock. I'm not sure about AMD motherboards. ALso, if you overclock you might need a better cooler. I use a cooler master Evo.

I don't think the 6670 can play BF3 on High. I had a 560ti and that played on High. A 6670 is much lower. I think you could play BF3 on Low.
This shows you the 6670 in Crysis 2:

I highly recommend spending more on your GPU, that is if you get the A8.

Don't buy 1866Mhz. Buy 4gb of 1333 or 1600. Trust me you need 4gb for those games, and most computers can't use 1866. Trust me, 1333 or 1600!!

Good Luck. And love the Philippines. My girlfriend and I have been there once before, and will be coming back again around Chinese New Year.

Wow.. Thanks envy14tpe:D
I guess you saved my ass on buying that RAM lol!:D

Is it best to overclock my CPU and GPU?
and what hertz is it safe?(on both CPU and GPU)
and what ddr3 card which can play Crysis 2 at high at low resolution?:(

Tnx btw on complementing my country.. hahaha!:)

The A8-3870k . Are you sure it is the "k"?
Also, you need to research to make sure your motherboard can overclock.
How much of an overclock depends on your system. Start slow, and work it higher
until it is stable. Your motherboard plays the most important role on how high you can. I don't think the Gigabyte A55M-DS2 will overclock well.

Honestly on a budget, I would skip overclocking and put more money into the GPU. A good GPU is crucial.

Can you get a 7750 or 7770? Those should do decent, but not sure about High.

No card in my town which is higher than hd6670:(
I haven't searched the GeForce cards at the store maybe I'll find ddr5 .. Hopefully:eek:

Overclocking. The important thing to check for about the mobo, is the "power phase"

My Z77 Pro 3 has 4 + 2. That is low.
The Gigabyte A55M-DS2 is 4 + 1, which is lower than my board.

As price goes up so does the power phase.
A $130usd mobo is 8 + 4.
A $250usd mobo is 12 + 6.

Sorry for my never ending questions:(
What do you mean by STABLE at overclocking? What is stable and what is not. Maybe I'll be overclocking the a8 Amd and not knowing I'm killing it lol:D

Off topic Hi Dnt where ya from in the Philippines. I am American but my wife is pinoy.shes from Biliran island.

On topic you are kinda stuck on the video cards there is not meny online computer shops In the phlippines and to make matters worse is shipping takes a month most of the time.

Something you can do is try to talk to one of the store owners and see if they can make a order for you i have had them do this many times while visiting your country. It still may take a while but at least you can the card wont get lost in the mail.

Yes .. Thanks anyway for replying:)
I'll ask maybe this weekend:)

Don't worry. If you want to build a PC you should learn or you will have big regrets, like those that buy prebuilt desktops.

Stable overclock means your computer will run faster but it won't crash. Mine is stable at 4.4MHz, but every time I try
to reach 4.5MHz my computer will crash. So, I can't overclock more on my 4 + 2 motherboard.

You could order a GPU and wait the month. You'll be glad you did. You need a good GPU for gaming. A 6670 is pretty low.
I wouldn't recommend it. You could use it, but you would have to lower the resolution when you are gaming. Otherwise you
would play BF3 on low fps, like 30. Ideally, you want 60fps.

1) 1280x1024 @high details
2) what ddr3 card which can play Crysis 2 at high at low resolution?
This puts you at an advantage in some ways, as that's 4:3 (which renders faster than 16:9 and it's not a huge amount of pixels to be pushing around.

A Radeon HD7770 OC will likely serve you well if you can get one.
Or even a Radeon 7850 or GeForce GTX650 Ti if you're interested.

I could order one and international courier it over + insurance if you want.
- I've posted it here on the forums so I can hardly go back on it or try to steal from you.
- Is Air Freight available in your area?
- I'm based in Australia which isn't too far away from the Philippines.

I wouldn't recommend any DDR3 or GDDR3 cards for Crysis 2
- It won't 'run' so much as it'll walk; if you get my gist.
