CPU upgrade

Hello guys,

I'm planning on buying a new CPU.

I got now the AMD phenom ii x6 1090t
And i'm thinking of upgrading it to an amd fx 8350.

Would the FPS greatly increase ingame or shoud i just stay with the phenom?

  1. It's barely an upgrade to be honest.

It's only worth an upgrade if it's two tiers higher.

Just overclock the Phenom II X6 1090t

Take a look at these games:

If you overclock your current processor you can close the gap between the 1090t and the FX-8350.

  3. I forgot to say my cpu is already overclocked to 4ghz..

And when i'm playing Skyrim my fps sometimes drops to around 30 with a radeon hd 7950... And a friend of mine has a fx8120 and he is never getting below 40-50 and he got a radeon hd 7850.. so that's why i thought maby a cpu upgrade will do it?
  4. Are you running anything in the background hogging resources? How much RAM do you have?

Regardless, an FX-8350 is not worth it considering your current processor. Do not forget your friend may be playing at a lower resolution and may not have all the eye candy turned up.

I have 8gb ram, and my friend have all the eye candy on..
  6. Resolution matters as well....
