I have started to play Planetside 2, do I need an upgrade?

My current specs are in my signature, except I have moved my CPU clock down to 3.2GHz...

I was going to buy a video card this AM, but started reading and found a few threads talking about how the game is CPU intensive...

My question for all of you is, if I move to a 7850 or the like, am I choking it with my current CPU?

Hi mate , from my knowledge I'd say yes definitely buying the 7850 with choke / bottleneck the frame rate of your game when using it with your current CPU. Also I'd recommend you get Windows 7 rather than using Vista.

Quad at 3.6GHz will keep up with a HD7850, a good upgrade.

I am running Windows 7, but my OC is only @ 3.4..may boost again for the game....

I figured if the card is to much for the system, I can upgrade CPU/mobo/memory later...

Any suggestions on CPU/mobo combo? I like to OC
