Hi, I'm building a rig for 3d graphics work and games. So I think I'm going to put a 580 in durr. I heard that gaming cards are not well suited for 3d graphics work. Would a quadro 600 work better with zbrush and Maya thN the gtx 580?
580 has much better specs it seems. Thanks in advance geniuses.

For photo editing you could go with any card from the GTX series, As most of the Adobe applications benefit from just the CUDA cores, but for 3D Animation, Rendering, CAD & Maya you're better off with a nVidia Quadro or ATI FirePro.

What do you think of a 580 and a quadro 600 in the same pc? Might be able to get a quadro 2000 maybe, would that work well with games. 4000 is out of my price range

You won't be able to switch between the GPUs easily, Quadro will be awful for games.
If you're not a professional and you just a beginner you can go with the Quadro 2000.
