Hi,
Windows XP updates the time once every 24 hours from the time server. Is
there a way to have this happen more often? I use some software that needs
a very accurate time, so I would like to have Windows update the time more
often. I know some tweak program, I can't remember which, had a setting
for this so it must be possible somehow through the registry.

To change the frequency of checking the time through the internet:
Start Regedit
Navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\W32Time\TimeProviders\Ntp
Client
Double-click SpecialPollInterval in the right-hand pane. Select
"Decimal" under Base. Change the value in seconds.
NOTE: The value is in seconds. Enter the number of seconds you would
like to update to the correct time. If you want every hour then it
would be 3600 seconds, daily would be 86400 seconds.

If updating your time every 24 hrs isn't enough, you might want to
invest $2 in a new CMOS battery.
Not always the case, my new board is 90 seconds fast per day. If you
snipe on ebay in the last 5 secs you need accuracy. After all these
years they still don't know how to keep accurate time.
