GTX 550 ti bottlenecking?

Hello again! I've been doing some research and was wondering if a GTX 550 ti would bottleneck my Pentium Dual-Core E5800. I know the GPU isn't the greatest, but I only expect to play Valve games and possibly BF3 Medium-High. Thanks!

Your card won't bottleneck the CPU, but the CPU will bottleneck the card just a tad. Not enough to notice, tho.

valve games are generally not demanding, as they are a company who follows the consumers more than the business man. as for battlefield 3, don't expect to play multiplayer until you get a new system refresh.

card is good, but dual core on BF3 can be limiting, not many other games need em (SC3?)

The frame rates you expect to get will depend on the resolution you are gaming at. Your CPU/GPU will struggle at anything over 1680x1050 with high-ish settings and demanding games. Valve games, on the otherhand, will work great. In fact, Valve is great.

I would get the 550Ti..anything less isnt worth it for gaming

1600X900 is my resolution. Not even BF3 minimum settings?
