I'm interested in buying an amd 8350, my experience is that stock coolers barely do the job.

The fact that it runs at 4ghz plus the fact that this an amd suggests that there will be a lot of heat.

My concern about liquid cooling is that if I forget to do the maintenance I will wind up cooking my gear.

Is there an air cooler up to the task. I would like to keep to the toward 40c to be safe.

You could just go with a Corsair Liquid Cooling system. All enclosed. No maintenance (other than dusting the radiator). Great warranty. Great price.

CORSAIR Hydro Series H80 (CWCH80) High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler

Here are my specs on Phenom II X4 925 with 25% OC at 3.5GHz. Been like this for over a year. These are idle temps but never get over 45C. Ambient temps around 70-72F

Sure, the stock cooler with keep it within a reasonable temperature range, but its noisy as hell. I recommend the CoolerMaster Hyper 212 EVO. Pick up another CoolerMaster fan to match it for 8 bucks. That's what I run on my workstations and for the money it absolutely can't be beat.
