Hi everyone,

Looking at getting a new motherboard & CPU. I've been looking at
ASUS SKT-FM1 F1A55-M for the motherboard and AMD FX 4100 3.6GHz CPU.

At the min I'm still using 7600GT (I'll be looking at upgrading this afterwards)

Would this motherboard/ CPU and my existing graphics card be compatible etc
and work ok?

Thanks
Rob

If your pc will be used for gaming, it is a moot point.

There are NO AMD winners at any price point. The FX-4100 is the only one to even get an honorable mention.

Regardless, I do not see the FX-4100 on the cpu supported list for that motherboard:

Your existing graphics card will work with any motherboard that has a pci-e X16 slot.

The socket FM1 is made for the AMD Llano series of APUs - it won't work with the FX-4100. I definitely agree that there's no reason to go AMD right now.
