Raspberry Pi GPIO

I'm thinking about spending my free time on learning how to use the GPIO on the Raspberry Pi.

I have no clue where to start or what language(s) I should/need to learn but am more than eager.

Can anyone point me in right direction as to where to start with this?

  1. You program the GPIO using python or C.
And apparently you can use an old IDE cable to connect with =D
I think a floppy cable will work as well =P

  2. Going to point you to the Raspberry Pi forums which I have found to be the 'go-to' place for all info RP... http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/
