ATI Radeon HD 4850 Crashing/Blue Screen

Good day.
Need an expert's advice. I'm using the above graphics card and it first crashed while playing ModernWarfare2. Since then, it crashes even if I'm just browsing. A symptom that it will eventually crash is, when that mouse pointer seems to be enclosed in a box and the taskbar have areas where dots and lines appear.

I've tried updating the drivers/catalyst but the problem remained. Also tried lower versions of the driver. The only way the card works is if i use either a 1024x768 or 800x600 resolution.

Need your help guys!

I'm using a 4Gb Windows7 64bit system.

It sounds like your card is going bad.

Download OCCT here:
http://www.ocbase.com/index.php/download

run the GPU test with error checking turned on. This will catch GPU errors and stress your card. It may not even get to logging errors if you card is bad. It may just bluescreen.

Another way to test would be to borrow a GPU from a friend and try it out in your system.

Thanks! Actually, I have a hunch that I need to get a new one.
Thanks again!

Yup, I did. Just went pitch black and never recovered. I'll try to change the GPU.
Thanks!
