PCIe 3.0 help

I recently purchased the gigabyte radeon hd 7970 windforce x3 to put in my asrock pro3 z77 mobo. I get no signal when the gpu is put in the 3.0 slot, but it works fine in the 2.1 slot. Do I need drivers or something for the 3.0 slot or should I RMA the mobo?

Check to see if there have been any bios fixes for that. If so grab the latest bios. Never hurts to check.

I already flashed the most recent bios. I guess I'll just refund it and buy an asrock extreme4 z77. I regretted buying the pro3 anyways so maybe this is a good thing.
