Single Card Solution for Dell U2711

After searching for about 2 weeks and finding only partial answers. I plan on upgrading to a Dell U2711 Monitor relatively soon. After researching, however, I found that my GT430 w/1gb will not be enough. In fact, it already strains in certain situations. The intended purpose will be Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop and games such as SWTOR, GuildWars2, Torchlight2, Skyrim, etc. I would like to run them at full resolution but 'Max' detail is not needed. I would be happy with middle to upper middle performance on that monitor. I was looking at EVGA 560Ti-448.

Some other details about my setup:
Gigabyte GA-H67MA-USB3-B3
12GB Ram
60 GB Corsair SSD
1.5 TB 7200 RPM HDD
Seasonic 850W Gold Power Supply.

~Sorry for the longwinded post - Trying to be detailed as possible.

Any advice/guidance is much appreciated

It really depends on what your max budget. A 560 Ti-448 will give you decent performance if you can live with a mix of medium and high settings. I would guess-timate around an average of 35FPS in games like Skyrim which has average GPU demands for a 1st person shooter.

Torchlight 2 will be similar to StarCraft 2 and Diablo 3 so it should not be very demanding at all. Not sure about GuildWars , all I know is that the game is not going to be very demanding on graphics based on preliminary minimum system requirements. However, those requirements can change, and they probably don't take into consideration people playing about 1920x1200 resolution.

Now if you were to play a really GPU demanding game like Metro 2033 or Crysis 2 with the DX11 patch and hi res texture pack then you will probably see average frame rates of between 20 (Metro) to 25 (Crysis) FPS.
  2. Thanks. I think I will be ordering me a EVGA 560ti 448 FTW and may get a second around christmas time
