Yes although the editing might benefit from I7 games won't.

Depends on how heavy you edit, as rolli59 mentioned you will benefit more from an i7

yea my only issue is that the i7 price jumps up a lot and i am kinda pushing my budget

I would go with the i5. Its a much better deal, unless you are a super hardcore editor.
