I'm planning on purchasing a new motherboard with a raid controller and eventually adding 2 new drives in raid 0. I was wondering if I keep my old drive for now if it would be hard to copy that one over to the two new drives?

Thanks

What did you want to copy over, everything?

Assuming just the data.
Assemble your new mobo with the raid setup. Install the OS. When everything is ok just add the old hd to the onboard ide. If you install the OS on C: on both the raid and old hd, then this should not post any problem. The system will probably load the OS from the old hd. Just copy whatever you wanted to the new location. If it boot otherwise, then still no problem.

If it doesn't work, just boot to Dos and copy over, but this way all the long filenames will be truncated.

It don't come easy.......not always.
