So I just reformatted my computer and updated to the latest nvidia drivers (301.42). When I was playing Runescape (don't judge me) its would peg GPU usage at 99% and i would get 10fps normally it would go between 20-35% and peg at the 50fps cap. I would restart my computer it would be fine then do it again laster on. I tried to play LoL 10min ago with same problem 99% usage and 5 FPS usually its around 50% and 60fps. I'm now installing the 301.24 drivers to see if it fixes my problem. I do have MSI Afterburner installed and have my card OCed to 1000 Core Voltage, 900Mhz Core, 1800Mhz Shaders (locked to core), 2000Mhz Memclock (stock). Anyone have any issues like this?

I noticed the same problem with swtor. I had to back out to version 296.10 because my frame rates made the game unplayable at even the lowest settings and reduced resolution. As a comparison. Before (v301.42) I had to reduce resolution to 1600x900 and set all setting to either off or low just to get 10-15 fps. Now with the older version(296) I'm back up to 1900x1080 with all settings to high and my frame rates are 50-70fps

Yeah same, soon as I went back to 296.10 problem solved. When you try to overclock at least for me with the new drivers for some reason the drivers would put the card into protect mode at like 66Mhz core and 122Mhz shaders which is lower then 2D mode . Then you have to restart your system.

Interesting....I had noticed a better game play in SWTOR prior to their last patch. Since then my frame rates and lag were undeniably a problem, especially when a lot of activity was going on or a lot people were in the same area at the same time. I had updated my driver to the 301.42 from the 285.62 version to counteract that problem.

Now because of this I am looking to see if my driver might be my problem...so it was nice to see there was a version that I could roll back to that might help me. Since JohnStG indicated he was playing SWTOR I gather I might need to look into this further.

I appreciate all the good info especially since gaming was mentioned. Thanks a bunch guys for your input here. :bounce: :bounce:
