GTX 570 or GTX 480?

incoming recon-uk...wait for it, get the 480 i got one yesterday couldnt be happier, heat is a non issue, and so is noise... those are the main complaints you'll hear in the incoming argument. also use the search and youll see 20+ threads like this with great answers to the question you just asked. goodluck.

the 480's sale ended. it's still avialable for ~$230 including shipping on amazon

if you cant get it around that price. again, the 570 or 7850 are better deals

Did they ever adjust the price on Newegg? I never got around to looking.

The thing is, you are going to need a really good case with good airflow to run a 480. The temps on that card are pretty insane, but you can do what recon has done and get an aftermarket cooler, which arent that hard to mount.

You also need the power supply for the card, but I'm assuming yours will be plenty whatever it is if you are considering high end cards like those.

yes, but newegg has them at $210 every other day, plus tigerdirect.com has them at $220 right now

vote goes to 480 unless you plan to sli, as the 480 may disapear in the future.
