Atx12v eps 12v???

Last response: in Components

Ok. So heres my question(s), my motherboard has an 8 pin atx12v connector. However the psu I ordered, from what I understand is 4+4 and the 4 pin connector is for atx 12v and using the other 4 makes it an 8 pin eps12v? would this work for my motherboard?? Or since the psu is atx12v/eps12v will it make the combined 8 pin connector atx12v if thats what my motherboard uses?

I'm a first time builder, and have no idea about power supplies other then 80+ is good and antec, corsair, etc. are the reliable brands.

ps. the psu I ordered is the XFX Core Edition PRO750W (P1-750S-NLB9)

The 4+4 pin connectors are for the 8 pin ATX connection on the motherboard, some boards have only a 4 pin ATX connector which is why the connection is split on some PSU's.

Best solution

OK so it doesn't matter if the mobo is atx12v or eps12v my psu will supply the right kind of power to my board through the 8 pins?

Yep, you should be fine. BTW, nice choice of PSU's.
