AMD 6490m Stops responding

Hello,
I have an hp dv7-6135dx laptop, with switchable graphics
(amd 6490m and intel hd 3000)
When playing minecraft with the amd card, I get an error "Display driver stopped responding and has successfully recovered".
I've tried all versions of the drivers from HP, with no success, and AMD will not let me install the drivers from their website.
Will getting a power supply with increased wattage (90w instead of 65w) fix the problem?

the "Display driver stopped responding and has successfully recovered" usually means your video card is faulty. Getting a larger laptop psu will not help at all. If your laptop is still under warranty i'd RMA it.

It's not under warranty still, had it for about a year. Just found out actually that I could set it so the AMD card stays on, and thats the only time I get the error
