If you are planning to buy 2 cards, u'd better just buy a better card now.. nVidia doesn't "Always out does" AMD. They can be just as good, it's just whatever you prefer.

But if you are buying a 550ti now, and a 650ti in a couple of months, u pay for 2 GPU's.. Can't u spend that money on 1 better GPU, like the 7850, depending on what actual budget you have for your cards?

Bad time for the need of a graphic card under $300. The only card in that price range that has the best value is the GTX 480 but it's 2 gen old and consumes quite a bit of power. The 7850 is overclocked and over-priced. So if you want new gen card which has the best performance per price, you have 2 options: Ditch out a little more and get the 670 or wait for the 660/660ti which who knows when they'll be out?

i dnt think i explained my self right im only looking at them 3 cards because im after a card between $130 -$180 i cant get anything above 6670 in the 6000 series because the store im getting it from dosent have 6700 or 6800 or 6900 cards same with nvidia they dnt have any other 400 series thats above 450 this is the website www.pccasegear.com.au im australian so im stricted to this i know theirs other australian computer part retailers but this is the only site i can find positive feed back from users that say its one of the best in australia so dnt wanna go with a bad rep retailer store so the graphics card has to be $100 -$190 and has to be able to do some series gamin on maybe just 1280x960 or 1600x900 n in high or med or ultra settings and reasion im staying to a $100 - $190 gpu because im on a budget of $1060 for my build and its already a $1044 includin a 7770 but i could save up for a bit more but ive been waitin for years for my own kick ass gamin pc and im on a really *** gamin pc atm i need to upgrade as soon as i can other wise i would wait for the 660 n wouldnt be asking so between that price range and what rez i wanna play games on what would u say for me to get the 550ti and sli when 660 comes out cause i will be savin money fo when it actually dose come out or just get a 7770 or any other gpu u think is better in that price range thats better then a 550ti or 7770 from that website

and i need the mouse pad because i havnt got a mouse pad but ive got a good mouse i use for gaming with 1000 dpi and i want that motherboard for any future pcie 1x cards i put in plus i has a another pcie 8x for when i get another card and it has good spaceing for the 2 cards and supports the ram im gunna put in and supports ivy cpu and i dnt wanna go sandy bridge because im after keepin this pc for the 3 year period that most of the product warranties n more years after that and need the anti static wrist band because i was in debate with my self about that i know i wont destroy the parts but then when i think about it more i get worryed because well if i staticly destroy them i have to wait to rebuy it n plus its only $6 its better safe then sorry

so im after a 550ti gpu or 7770 gpu or something from the www.pccasegear.com has to work with the case and the setup i have their ^^^ but if u see anything in that setup i dnt need or can do less of feel free to mention it

oh and it has to be between $100 - 180 and has to play any game at med or high or ultra settings at 1280x960 or 1600x1050 at about a fps of 35 +

so how about we redo your config, and squeeze out the extra cash to max bf3 performance? trust me, a 550ti won't do well with BF3

Edit: OK, I tried to rebuild your PC from PCcasegear options, and honestly couldn't do much better in terms of shaving costs to let you get a better video card... do you guys really not have any other websites? I feel ripped off on everything I'm looking at there, and there's a severe lack of choices, there's like only 1 or 2 choices per price category...

fair enough, I can understand your impatience. glad to know for once the OP did his own homework

anyway, I would get the 7770 and forget about the 650ti, judging by the way the 640 looked and how well 7770 overclocks, I HIGHLY doubt the 650ti would be better, for all we know it could be slower than the 7770 when it comes out. the 660 will be a small upgrade.

for all intent and purposes, I think you should get the 7770, if it works well, forget about an upgrade later this year, and wait for next year when new cards come out, and save up in the mean time

btw i found ur answer the best even thou some have said 7770 they didnt actually win me over on why the 7770 was better in a way and also ur thorts on the 640 n 650 n 660 were very agreeable n btw umart didnt have any 6800's but did have a 460 but figured that would be same performace then a 550ti

I'd go with the sapphire card.
http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=193_1343&products_id=19509

I know it's the cheapest one, but I've owned 3 sapphire cards myself so far, never had a problem with them and they generally have a great reputation. the MSI one may overclock a bit better, but it's not worth the $26 difference.

ALTERNATIVELY, have you thought about cutting your CPU down to the i5 2320? if you do you save $16 there, which gets you just $10 short of the Zotac 560ti. you'll have a much more balanced gaming rig (much higher fps too) that way
http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=193_1193&products_id=19060

here's benchmarks of the 7770 vs 560ti
http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/547?vs=536

If you can't stretch your budget that far, I understand. just offering my thoughts
