Well I was thinking of trying to call newegg and see if they'll price match microcenters offer, if not I know someone who lives near one who can mail it to me. It'd still come out cheaper than the ~$230 newegg charges for the cpu
No, they don't price match, sadly. Good idea. I'd also ask him to buy a motherboard at microcenter too. The Intel motherboard brands are bland in features and too overpriced. Get the Z77 Extreme4 or the Pro3 if not CF/SLIng.
Yeah the motherboard was the only thing I was really unsure about. I'm having trouble distinguishing the differences between them so I just chose a genuine intel to match up with the intel CPU. Those two motherboards you named, what are their benefits? Also, what if I am considering SLI'ing in the future?
