i also have Antec basiq series vp550p 550W PSU. i would also like to know if my PSU could run any of them. I would like to know what card are recommended for for a 550W PSu with a £150 budget for gaming. THANKS

Either one will work fine with a 550w power supply...in fact you could run both of the in SLI. I still have a previous generation 5850 and it is fine for most games even at 2560x1600 resolution. Tom's recommends the 6870 or the 560 for $150 and the 560 ti for $230, so you fall right in that range. I like ASUS a lot, but Sapphire is an ATI specialist and frankly the factory stock card will work fine too (though it runs hot).

Oh stop with that nonsense. The 580 is way above the price and performance range of the cards the OP has posted.

It looks like the ASUS 6850 is factory overclocked which is why it costs more. I'd just get the cheaper one and then OC if you feel like it later.

Alot slower than all cards mentioned in this thread..

If you want minimal, go for a 6870 from XFX, they are roughly £118 on www.scan.co.uk

for your budget you could get a 6850 or 6870
