Hi guys, im looking to upgrade my gpu. Im going to spend all of my money on a 7970. So right now i have a Pentium III-S at 1.32 GHZ. I also have a 305 watt power supply and im wondering if this psu would be overkill since i heard the 7970 is very energy efficient. Thanks for any help

You will need a new power supply first to even run a 7970.

But to answer your question directly, yes oh horribly yes...

You need a new cpu/motherboard/ram/power supply BEFORE you even think of a new video card.

Good luck.

LOL...yes the pentium III will be bottlenecked by the 7970, your cpu is too powerful, get a better gpu like a nvidia riva tnt 2 and you're good to go.

Nice try.

You should have went for a Coppermine 1.13Ghz.

If in the unlikely event you are not Trolling. The replies that you would essentially need a new system are 100% correct.

i dont agree he should get the 7970 today. its the best card you can get for the money... it requires about 18watts to run so should be fine on a 350w system. the pentium cpu has been going strong as a brand for nearly 10 years so yeah! its all good in the hood bra!

this is in no way a reflection of the advice i would actually give
