Hi guys, i need some advice on upgrades for my low-end pc, i mainly use the pc for video editing and 3d modelling (using adobe after effects, cinema 4d etc.) and if possible i'd like to be able to play some light games on it. this is a custom built pc built a few years back, here are the specs:

Motherboard: Asrock ALiveNF7G-GLAN
CPU: AMD Athon X2 240 (@2.8ghz) (Stock Cooler)
RAM: 5gb DDR2 (4 slots, 2x 2 gb sticks, 1x 1gb stick and 1 empty slot)
Hard Drive 1: 230gb 7200rpm
Hard Drive 2: 1TB 5400rpm
GPU: Asus 5450 (1gb Gddr5 - not OC'd)

I have a budget of £200/$310. Thanks For The Help In Advance. :)

hmmm.... dude youre going to basically need a whole new computer build.

do you know if your case is a micro ATX case or an ATX mid tower?

$310 is hard to work with but accordng to newegg
(prices rounded, tax & shipping not included):

AMD FX 4170 4.2 ghz AM3+ $140
MSI 970A-G46 AM3+ $100
PNY XLR8 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 $43

and reuse everything else you have after that. This is hoping you have an ATX compatible case, not just micro ATX

if you had more money;

HIS Radeon HD 6770 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 Video Card with Eyefinity $125
PC Power and Cooling Silencer MK III 600W Modular 80PLUS Bronze Power Supply $95

the graphics card you can crossfire with another, and the psu is an investment to your power bill in the future
