NetGear Wifi Router problem

Forum Wireless Networking : Range & Connectivity NetGear Wifi Router problem

I have set up a Netgear router in my office. The desktop where I set it up on is running Windows XP (which is required for work purposes using an older version of CISCO VPN). My work laptop runs Windows XP and has no problems. My second laptop using Windows 7 continues to drop connection repeatedly.

My Netgear machine allows for two signals to be broadcast. The higher signal is not picked up at all on Windows 7, but is seen on the Windows XP (which does not drop). Can you advise?

Thank you

Seems like a problem with your Windows 7 and not your network. Have you tried updating the drivers for your WiFi NIC under Win 7?

Can that Win 7 machine connect reliably to other WiFi networks?
