So, you want a Full HD montior... maybe even 1920x1200. A Windows OS and a Core i5 with a high end graphics card to play in HD?
This is too much to ask for, for UNDER $1000.

Ok. No problem. I understand. I was 16, once :)

So AMD is a much better option in that case. If Intels the way to go, then.. this is what you should get..

CPU: Intel Core i3-2120 ~$125
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-cpu-review-o...
you should wait for the Best Gaming cpus for August.

GPU: Ati Radeon 6870 ~$180 or GTX 570 ~240
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-graphics-car...
Again, check out the august article when it releases.

This saves you around: $150-$200 for a Great Monitor

As for the Mobo..
MOBO: ASUS P8B75-M $67
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

Lol, then again... you have 2 Months to decide. Everything will change so quickly

The GTX 660 ti 2GB is due for release August 16th and it's est. retail $300. Now even if that card isn't in your budget it should bring the price down on the 7870 to something like $250. Your talking GTX 580 speed right there and it all fits in your $1000 budget. Something to think about.
