Need help on a new system -

This is what I currently have:

Corsair 4GB Dual Channel Corsair DDR3 Memory for Intel Core i5 Processors (CMX4GX3M2A1600C9)

Sapphire Radeon HD 6870 1 GB DDR5 DL-DVI-I/SL-DVI-D/HDMI/Dual Mini DP PCI-Express Graphics Card 100314-2SR

Intel Core i3-2100 Processor 3.1GHz 3 MB Cache Socket LGA1155

OCZ ModXStream Pro 500W Modular High-Performance Power Supply Compatible with Intel Sandy Bridge Core i3 i5 i7 and AMD Phenom

Gigabyte Z68A-D3-B3 LGA 1155 Intel Z68 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard GA-Z68A-D3-B3

I'd like to reuse the memory and crossfire the 6870. I am moving and not looking to ship most of this stuff (though I suppose the i3 could fit in my pocket and be used in a research only computer).

I'd like to spend less than 1000 bucks though if a build is just too good I can certainly go a bit more. The computer would be used primarily for Gaming, Photographicary Manipulation and research (though realistically any computer should handle that if it can handle the gaming stuff). Looking to buy in the next month, and it would all be through Amazon.com (can't be their returns/shipping rates). Anything not listed I need (Monitor, KB, etc.).

Right now my main concerns with my current system are it's slow read/write speeds (which make editing large photos a bit of a pain), and slightly slow gaming.

What you Need is a I7 2600 cpu with a 2x8 1866mhz Memory Ram. i suggest you To Go with a Mini Itx Build, Size of a Shoe Box, that way you will be able to travel with it if you move again.


This is a great Case made for people who moves alot , not saying that its your case but it can handle a High end System. Its Expensive i know, But its Worth it.

Yea there is no way I am spending 277 on a case. I have had my case for, like 6 years or more. I won't be moving state to state to warrant that expense anytime soon.

Anywho this is what I have come up with on my lonesome:
Memory: Corsair XMS 8GB
HDD: WD Caviar Black
SSD Samsung 128GB
Video Card: Sapphire HD6870
CPU Core i3-2100
Motherboard: MSI Z77A-G45 or GIGA GA-Z77-D3H
PSU: Corsair TX750
Monitor: ASUS VE277H. Interested in the 27inch, but not sure the extra pixels will really be worth it for me.

I still need a cheap case; the cheaper the better.
