ORRRRRRR

Antec Nine Hundred Black Steel ATX Mid Tower
http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129021

^^^^^ I'm honestly not sure which one is best :( I mean the Full tower has more space and more fan's and FAN POWER!!! MUHAHAHA!! but I'm not sure if I need it or not considering I have a sabertooth, and a CPU cooler... ALSO the mid tower seems efficient enough to support my needs but I'm not sure...

This is not just a gaming PC but also video editing, Photoshop, mixing and mastering music (making a home studio lol), and plan downloading like a b*tch lol. I've made much lower end builds like around $1000 but I'm not so sure if I'm doing it right with a high end build. I'm also considering over clocking around 4.5-4.9 GHz at MAXIMUM probably with the Ivy Bridge. The main thing I'm trying to confirm is if this build WILL in theory run smoothly with all the pieces being compatible and I will IN THEORY will not run into any hardware issues (Obviously ignoring faulty parts and what not). If there is a better AND cheaper choice then PLEASE make suggestions :)

  1. Overall looks pretty good, although if you want really good overclocking you might as well throw in a couple bucks and jump up to a corsair h100. As far as I can tell its the best plug-and-play cooling system available. I've got one and couldn't be happier.

Any thoughts about adding an SSD? It would make a noticeable difference in your editing, etc.

as for the case, any particular attachment to Antec? or would you consider one of these:

Great case that would match your mobo, show off the hardware, and great layout for cooling:

Strong all-around favorite if you like the look:

Strong contender if you prefer a sleeker, simpler look:

  2. Yeah, that's pretty good. If you want a great case, go for the NZXT Switch 810. The cooling and is fantastic and its really easy to work with.

As rainvie1 said, you should get an SSD. I've had great experiences with the Corsair Force GT series. If it's a little too expensive for you, get a smaller drive for your programs and a hard disk drive for your data.

    +1 for the Corsair H100
  3. My knowledge of the SSD is quite limited :( and I kinda like the blue look and the fans :$
I'm only really going to over clock to a GHz of around 4.5 - 4.8 or.9... I don't think I'd ever need water cooling to go past that or even 5GHz for that matter...
  4. Between those two Antec's ( I love antec antec is my first case and will be my last <3 ... till they f*ck up lol ) which is the better choice?
  5. Yeah, the fans look good.
Seems like the twelve hundred has better ventilation, but the nine hundred looks better.
With these specs you dont actually need much cooling tho. i'd go for the nine hundred.
  6. Your build is pretty solid i have a few suggestions one change your motherboard the one i recommend is just as good and it will save you $20.00 and trust me this motherboard oc is easy bios is amazing and you won't regret buying it mobo:ASUS P8Z77-V PRO LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

for aftermarket cooler although the NH-D14 is ugly imo lol i would still buy it as it is one of the best you can get i do recommend you switch to low profile ram to avoid the risk of conflict with your aftermarket cooler this would match the looks of your case and motherboard if you switched it to the one i highly recommend RAM:G.SKILL Ares Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-1600C9D-8GAB

other than that the PSU you picked is one of the best i would buy it myself and all the rest of your build is top notch and solid anyway good luck!

I'd rather get the Eleven Hundred for the same price.

I thought there was a four or five dollar difference which wouldn't sway me to go with the Eleven Hundred if that was the case
  9. 2 dollar difference. My bad. But it still has better cable management.
  10. I will take your word for it i never did a build in the Eleven Hundred so maybe it's worth it
  11. It has space behind the tray to cable manage.
  12. oh o.k. :)
