i have a 670 and im playing at 1280 x 1024 but im only getting 42 fps average. i had a 570 before (which i return due to massive coil whine) at it average at 36. this says a 580 is supposed to get 55 with 1680 x 1050

is there something wrong with the game or both my cards?

More about : low fps crysis

i have i5 2500k 8gb ram and 500gb HDD. only other modern game i have right now is skyrim i was using a intel hd 3000 before so i didnt buy any modern games (just got 670 2days ago). i think skyrim fps (mostly 60) is good but then again im not surprise it's a console port with shiet graphics.

also when are they gonna release a single card that can handle 1440p? i dont like 2+ cards because of power heat and stutter. will the rumored 685 (or gk110) do the trick?

You are CPU bottlenecked, and you always will be. :(  There does not exist a CPU that can push a minimum of 60 FPS in Crysis 1. My 2500k @ 5.0GHz still only pushes a min of 48.
Edit: Your 3dMark is normal.

@cuecuemore, are you mad what are you talking about man? Niether card can bottlenneck by 2500k even at stock speed so how are you saying that?
A friend of mine runing 680 with 2500k stock all the games he ran at maximum setting.

Sounds like an OS problem.

Not on on the original Crysis. Sure, in any other game the 2500k is plenty, just not in Crysis 1.

Why do people still use a 5 year old game to be a yardstick on performance? Its not an os problem cause he is using win 7 64 as per the 3dmark11 link he left.

The only thing I saw is you should bump up your 2500k up to the easy and cool running 4.4ghz.

Listen, crysis is an old and broken game and I dont know why people still expect to get great performance outta it. If a 5 year old game cannot be ran at 60fps on a 2012 rig than that should tell you something.

Your 3dmark11 scores are fine. Here's mine so your right in line.

Cuecuemore is absolutely right. Op's rig is more than enough, just not for Crysis.
