Windows Soundrecorder Problem ?

Unable to record with Soundrecorder ...

Receive error notice: "Another application is recording audio. Stop
recording with this application and then try to record with sound recorder
again."

I've never encounter this error before ... and to the best of my knowledge I
do not posses any other application that records ... anyone know what
application might record without my knowledge?

I disabled all applications in msconfig startup ... but recorder error is
still present...

Have scanned computer for viruses, and spyware (Norton, Ad-aware & Spybot
Search & Destroy) ... having none.

I downloaded an additional sound recorder program ... tested it with the
same results...

I don't know what else to do ... any suggestions would be greatly
appreciated...
