how can I get higher resolution means 1444x944 when operating under Win 7?

Right-click on the desktop and select "Screen Resolution". From there, you will have a drop-down menu from where you can select your desired resolution. Keep in mind though, that if the resolution isn't the same as the monitor's, things will appear rather strange.
