Dell Precision 390 - Core 2 Duo E6300 @1.8ghz
Just practically stole a Core 2 Duo E7400 @2.9ghz off ebay.

The Heatsink in this dell is old and huge.
I'd like to upgrade, or at least replace with something smaller.
I don't know exactly what will fit though.
I was looking at this.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

It says LGA775 but the pins look like they are too square shaped to fit this MB. The pins on the MB make a rectangle.
It could just be bad perception on my part.
Will that fit? If not, what will?
Also, some people have said that this doesn't make contact with the CPU?
All advice welcome.

Thank you!

Did you at least confirm your BIOS supports the CPU?
Also, any LGA775 cooler should be fine unless its a proprietary mount on the board.

Cpu is supported. And after further research, no any lga 775 cooler will not do. Ill stick with stock heat sink
