Hey guys,

I have got an offer for a trade off for my GTX 580 1.5GB with 2 HD 5870's 1GB each (XFX and Sapphire). Should I consider the trade off or should I just stick to my 580?

What do you people suggest. Dont tell me about power consumption and heat as I have sufficient cooling and power requirements. Just let me know if it would be any kind of upgrade or am I just looking at the same level of performance and what about the 1GB memory on the 5870's as well?

CF wins in most cases.

Crossfire may, but that begs the question why would they want to trade?

1GB shouldn't matter much if you're at 1080p. somewhere around here is an article about the 1GB vs 2GB 6950s.

You are also giving up the option of SLI with your 580 later, for a modest boost now. Basically they'll last a litte longer than your 580 on its own, but eventually you'll have to replace them both.

So what do you suggest. Should I stick with my 580? Will an overclocked 580 match the performance of the 5870 crossfire?
