I'm looking at a powercolour 6870 PCS+
My resolution is 1280x1024 (might go 1080p eventually)
I want to completely max out Crysis
*Am I specing too high as budget is quite tight?
*Is the powercolour PCS+ cooler quiet at all?
Thanks in advance :)

Okay based on your resolution you still won't max out Crysis

Strong frames at 1280x1024

Sound is roughly 36 dB. So it's not loud.

Hope that helps :)

Is there an Nvidia option that offers slightly better performance for a similar price? £130 ($205)
Should I wait until the low / mid end Nvidia 600series come out and push prices down like they've done in the high end?

You may want to look at the GTX 560ti. In the U.S., there is a lot of cards in rebate and is around that price you've posted.

In the UK the ti is too expensive, how about the 560 It looks pretty much the same on benchmarks overall.
