Desk top shortcuts all open word??

Hello,
All of a sudden when i click a shortcut icon on my desktop it automatically opens microsoft word. How do i stop it from doing this.

first of all check your computer for malware. this behaviour sounds strange.

Its probably a virus...

Run MALWAREBYTES in safe mode...

You should start backing up your data in case it's a virus.

There is the off-chance that it's a prank - in which case it's pretty funny. Is there someone with the skills and the means?
