Laptop flickering stops after connecting external monitor

Hello, my Dell's laptop display flickers, but after I connect it to an external monitor and switch to displaying image on both the LCD and the external monitor, and also setting the external monitor as default, the flickering stops. In other words, the flickering stops if the laptop takes the display resolution parameters from the external monitor, instead of its own display.

According the scenario that you explained above I have found out that there is an issue with the connecting cable from the LCD and Motherboard. The cable is faulty, and when you connect the external monitor, the electricity balances and the Display on the LCD doesn't flicker. Hence you should think of replacing the Cable which connects the Motherboard and the LCD.
