I have been very impressed with PBase galleries I have seen but this is an
American site. Is there an equivalent UK site?

See, the neat thing about the Internet is, it really doesn't matter
where you are in the world.

People from all over the planet use Pbase... why can't you, if it suits
your needs?

You are perfectly right but I tend to avoid paying for something when it is
quoted in Dollars.
I am never sure if I have to pay extra for paying with my credit card etc.
Am I old fashioned?

I suppose it depends on the credit card company. I was pleasantly
surprised when I got my credit card bills from a trip into Canada, and
found all the seemingly high Canadian prices converted to USD, as they
were much more within the usual prices after conversion.

There needn't be any mystery behind how much you will ultimately get
charged by your CC company, if that's what you're worried about. The
print might be a bit small, but if you read through the CC agreement
document(s), it should specify somewhere in there if there are any
additional fees or charges for foreign currency payments.

Some cards might charge a small fee, some might not. With the card I
use most frequently, there are no additional flat fees added. However,
the currency exchange rate they use is 2 or 3 points higher than
whatever the going bank rate is that particular day.

If you call up the financial institution that issued your card, I'm
sure they can tell you that information over the phone as well.

That is certainly true when I get my master card account (I am in
Toronto, Canada). When I used to sell some things on Ebay now and then,
my Ebay fees would be taken out of my Master card and my bank converted
the US dollars to Canadian dollars, and also took out their fee which
was always noticeably higher, though I forget exactly how much higher,
than the going bank rate for that day. Not likely that many banks will
do anything free if they can charge a fee.

Ask your credit card company what exchange rate they give; almost and
financial institution will include a small percentage on a transaction
either way. There are dozens of financial sites that will tell you the
ACTUAL current exchange rates, so you can compare.
