Hello. Does anyone know what is the main difference between SD and MMCards?
I have Minolta Z-10, and don't know what is better to buy.
Thanks.

MMCards don't melt in your hands. Wait, nevermind. What was the question
again? Obviously I know nothing about memory.

SD cards were originally developed to fit with copyright content - you lose
a few kb on each card, card has a physical 'write-protect' switch and is
slightly smaller than MMC. I haven't noticed any apparent speed differences
between the two types, although I only use them in my PDA so mileage may
vary in the Z-10.

I don't know about their use in cameras, but when used in PDAs, SD
cards were always much faster (usually by several hundred percent)
than MMC at loading programs and copying files according to reports
in one of the Palm newsgroups. It was my understanding that with
SD, the PDA could access memory 4 bits at a time vs. only 1 or 2
bits for MMC. Whether this was true of not I couldn't say, as I
only used CF cards in my PDAs.
