Lights go on the MB - but system just does not start HELP!

Hello!
Lights go on the MB - but system just does not start HELP!
I've just built a new system with new power supply and when all plugged in, the motherboard lights up and all but once I hit on, the cpu fan and PS fan goes on for a split second then doesn't respond at all.

Board is M5A88-M
FX-8150
Rosewill Power supply

Any ideas?

Thanks!

  1. Double check all power connections (24 pin board power, 6 (or 4) pin CPU power, fans, GPU). Also, check for any places in the case that could be touching the motherboard (standoffs, cables, loose power connectors, etc.)
  2. CBall means the 4 or 8 pin into the CPU (ATX/EPS) connection on the motherboard, there are no places for a 6 or 6+2 pin on the motherboard (that's PCIe) - just for clarification

Thanks C12Friedman, so used to typing 6 pin for GPU (another big issue on Tom's :D )
  4. Hi

Checked the things you guys suggested and still no go.

Have also tried ONLY the mb (took out ram, sata drives, gpu, etc) and the same thing happens.
