Hey guys I'm trying to connect my Radeon 6950 to my OCZ700MXSP PSU.
On the back of the PSU there are two modular red connections
and on the Gfx Card there are two 6pin connections
the red connections on the psu are 8pin
the only pci express wires I received in the PSU box are an 8pin to (6+2)pin
and a 6pin to 6pin, the plastic is for an 8pin but only has the 6 wires going to it.
my questions is can I connect these wires from my PSU to my Gfx card without frying it?
Mainly the 8pin to 6pin?

thanks!

Yes. In fact those cables with Red connectors have label for "PCI Express" & intended solely for that purpose.

Normally, you wont be able to plug the wrong connectors unless undue force is made. So just make sure that the notches that are supposed to prevent wrong insertion are properly aligned before you push. Again, there must be no undue force applied. If you feel any kind of strong resistance, check the alignment again.
