More about what performce 7850
  1. Its close to the GTX 560 Ti 448, GTX 570 is a little better.

    GTX570, GTX480, 6970. are about equal.

    GTX580, 7870, 7950 are a bit stronger.

    GTX560, GTX560ti,GTX470, 5870, 6950 are a bit weaker.

All are close enough to equivalent performance that you would need a benchmark to detect the difference.
  3. gaming performance is somewhere between a gtx 560ti 448 cores and gtx 570 with 2gb vram.
in terms of power (wattage) use, nothing comes close afaik. it is currently the most powerful card that requires only one pcie power connector.
compute performance should be higher than those two cards (can't confirm).
  4. so woukd the gtx 570 or the tx 580 run games on high to med setting 1650x900

    Yes, or even better.
  6. .. yes. those can handle higher res as well. performance will vary depending on each game.
  7. and my spec are amd phemon x4 840 and 4 gbs of ram
  8. either card you mentioned will fit nicely. although, if you oc your cpu you might achieve even better performance in case cpu overhead is there due to lower resolution.
  9. so the gtx 570 or gtx 580 will be ok for my system
  10. yes. however, make sure your case and psu can accomodate either card.

Check that you have at least a 550w psu for the GTX570, or a 600w psu for the GTX580
  12. for the gtx 570 or gtx 580 how much power does it use
  13. Yeah but you will see less framerates then you see in benchmarks due to your cpu being... well... not an i5 or something more high end. :)
  14. ths ok but it will games on high or med

Yeah expect to max most games, except bad ports like gta IV or extremely taxing games like metro 2033

as for power draw, what power supply do you have? we need the make and model, amperage on the rails also helps.

I think you are OK on the cpu.

Run your games, but lower your resolution and eye candy.
If your FPS increases, it indicates that your cpu is strong enough to drive a better graphics configuration.

A stronger graphics card will always perform better, it is just a question by how much.
That may be in the form of higher FPS, higher minimum FPS, more eye candy, or higher resolutions. All good things.
  18. so my cpu is ok with the gpus

but i have to keep on 1680x900
  19. guru3d recommends a 650w psu for gtx 580 and a 600w psu for gtx 570.

btw, overclocked cards will consume higher wattage.
  20. yeah i wont oc the card anyway

er.. i think you need a better psu. that psu seems iffy. imo something like corsair tx750, to be on the safe side.
  23. yeh i think so to
  24. will my cpu bottelneck if i use this because my cpu is clocked at 3.2 ghz
  25. hey what tx corsair mean
  26. possibly, a bit. at your resolution, games are likely to have playable fps, so that might not be a problem.
