Its close to the GTX 560 Ti 448, GTX 570 is a little better.

GTX570, GTX480, 6970. are about equal.

GTX580, 7870, 7950 are a bit stronger.

GTX560, GTX560ti,GTX470, 5870, 6950 are a bit weaker.

All are close enough to equivalent performance that you would need a benchmark to detect the difference.

gaming performance is somewhere between a gtx 560ti 448 cores and gtx 570 with 2gb vram.
in terms of power (wattage) use, nothing comes close afaik. it is currently the most powerful card that requires only one pcie power connector.
compute performance should be higher than those two cards (can't confirm).

either card you mentioned will fit nicely. although, if you oc your cpu you might achieve even better performance in case cpu overhead is there due to lower resolution.

Check that you have at least a 550w psu for the GTX570, or a 600w psu for the GTX580

Yeah but you will see less framerates then you see in benchmarks due to your cpu being... well... not an i5 or something more high end.

Yeah expect to max most games, except bad ports like gta IV or extremely taxing games like metro 2033

as for power draw, what power supply do you have? we need the make and model, amperage on the rails also helps.

I think you are OK on the cpu.

Run your games, but lower your resolution and eye candy.
If your FPS increases, it indicates that your cpu is strong enough to drive a better graphics configuration.

A stronger graphics card will always perform better, it is just a question by how much.
That may be in the form of higher FPS, higher minimum FPS, more eye candy, or higher resolutions. All good things.

er.. i think you need a better psu. that psu seems iffy. imo something like corsair tx750, to be on the safe side.
