I just upgraded my GPU to a HD 6950 2GB and now I'm left with my old HD 5670 1GB (here). My buddy has an old P4 @3.4GHz on a D915GUX mobo (here)and he's stuck with an old GeForce 8400GS (here) which is barely any better than the integrated GMA900. I figured I would be nice and give him my old card, but I can't seem to get the system to boot when I install it. It just freezes during the POST. Has anyone out there been successful in this combination? From what I can tell, it should work.

When I upgraded my GPU I tossed my old PSU in his box. It's a PcP&C 500Watt. It always drove it before. (I now have a 750 Quad)

No beeps. Just fans running. Argh! :??:

Figured it out. I have been disabling the GMA900 (which is correct) but I also needed to set DVMT to fixed, then go into the PCIe configuration section and disable EVERYTHING. Only after all that, would it finally boot with the HD5670 1GB. I knew it had to be something dumb b/c I ran into the same DVMT issue on my ASUS board. However the PCIe custom settings were not necessary with it, only on this Intel board. Running good now, Just needed to hear I wasn't cracking up.
