Recently I've been taking my Dwarven Hunter and his awesome Pig o'
Death to the X-roads (PvE). I've never been to a battleground and
quite frankly I'm not interested. I play with my other half and Don't
have any particular desire to suddenly be placed in a PvP environment
to enjoy without her. Monday was a bad night. A trio of Rogues were
working together and pissing me of wholey, two lvl 24's and a ?? who I
later learned was lvl 54. At lvl 23, I couldn't even see the big guy
and their constant targetting of myself was bugging me utterly, but I
never say die and basically continued till the whole thing died down.
Tuesday, was something of a turn of events. Had some duels with an
Undead Rogue, which was enlightening. Just couldn't pin the ah heck
down and he knew his stuff. Never got close to beating him.
Then when the raid started, my other half noticed that there was a lvl
12 Troll Rogue who was enabled. Shes lvl 34 or something, my Dwarf
being one of about 6 chars on rotation, and she plugs him, and feels a
bit mean.
2 minutes later we spot him again. He's stood watching the fighting.
We hare off after him, she sends her cat. He goes to Res.
It happens again. and again and again ad nauseum. Whenever we see him,
hes just running about round the Raptors and stuff, not fighting
players and we figure its because he's little, but lacking any morals
or sense of guilt, we go after him. The last time it occurs, I simply
chase him to concuss him and let the pig go crazy. I'm laughing so
hard that I'm crying and the poor ah heck manages to get all the way to
Razormane farm or what ever its called before the Pig shuffles him off
to the spirit healer.
Wednesday. I'm in Ironforge, when this dude whispers me and says "You
F**king bastard, your'e the one who was bullying my friend".
I get confused
Someone else whispers "Yeah you, you Kept killing me"
I get bewildered. I ask, who have I killed? and where?
"At the Xroads last night" comes the reply, it suddenly dawns on me.
Its the Alliance alt of the little Troll.
I have a convo with him and it seems that he thought it was quite
entertaining, which explains why he kept being PvP enabled, though his
respawn time went through the roof, he was actually questing but
didn't get it finished, while he was hunting raptors, these two
bullies kept icing him, but, he was really very good about it and
explained that he thought the effort we were putting into getting him
was hysterical and that we should do it if we meet again.
But it did occur to me, that theres (very occasionally) People at the
X-roads that aren't there to fight and all of this situation is
because of the Honor system. It doesn't prevent the killing of Civs,
because theres always someone who doesn't care and thinks its funny. I
can just see it being problematic for little hoarders. When I was a
young night elf. I used to get really pissed off with the Hoarde
attacks on Astranaar. Lvl 50s and 60s constantly nuking everyone. I
think on Arathor, theres actually a contigent of Horde players have to
stay bound to X-roads, because the Raiders often still take out the
civs so theres no griffony access (if there is anyone) and they get
bound to this constant defence of this little backwater. I don't know
if they enjoy it or not.
I like pvp, and will usually attack even ?? lvl people if I see them
enabled, because it entertains me. But I may have to think about it a
bit more and consider what a nuisance I may actually be being.
