I'm looking for something to remote into my Win7 PC at home from work, but preferably a new session or some such.
I remember when I used to work for a place a while ago they had terminal services on the server so you could remote in to do stuff without kicking off the current user.
My wifes usually doing things on the PC and I'd rather not interrupt her.
I remember in XP having different users logged in and switching across.
Is there some method like that for Win7 Ultimate 64bit install?

Or for now is VNC best bet and just try to share the pc on those occasions?

besides the awesome logmein service, have you checked with your work's IT department to see if they have a terminal server available for Remote Desktop?

(i have a slight preference towards RDP)

I was under the impression logmein just lets you remote and take control of already in progress session?

And my goal is a separate session at home, not at work so terminal server wouldn't help in that regard.

You can't start 2 user connection on a home OS remotely if that's what you are asking. Non-server OS versions only allow one interactive user.

If you do a web search you can find a "hack" to enable multiple users, but using that is akin to breaking the EULA for the OS, and of course can crash your system.
